Hey, I'm James Holmes, and I am the co-founder and salon director at HUSH Hair.  I have been in the  hair industry  for 20 years in Birmingham, 12 years of that was establishing Hush in the city centre.

The previous three salons I worked for were 5 star rated salons to which I gained a great amount of knowledge in cutting/styling and customer service, as well as seeing how a successful a business runs.

Over the years,  I have gained a respectful amount of clients that range from local personalities to people traveling afar to see me. working with brands such as L'oreal, Kerastase and Redken has given me great insight into fashion which keeps my passion for hair growing every day!

With 29 years of hairdressing under my belt, I started out in North Warwickshire in a small, family run salon where my passion started to build for hair. Once I qualified, I headed for London for bigger things.

Colour is my ultimate passion and I love creating personalised looks for everyone. I decided to take on the L'oreal Colour Specialist Degree (one of my biggest achievements) and have not looked back. I was also given the chance to work behind the scenes with the BBC on According to Bex!

Once I had the degree, I went to work in Leamington and was lucky enough to work for Achille. Having gained more knowledge, I then decided to work in Birmingham. I am super proud to have been working for Hush for 12 years now, where my clients allow me to be as creative as I want.

Having done some familiar faces at Hush Belinda Carlisle, Aljaz (Strictly), Mark Shaw (then Jerico) this has been a great experience to work alongside these people. I love making my clients look and feel fantastic!!!

I've been in the hair industry from the age of 16 and have grown from strength to strength over the past 9 years!

My passion is for cutting and colouring, especially blondes and balayages. I've managed to grow a pretty respectful clientele. Some of my greatest knowledge comes from attending L'Oreal Creative Colour Courses, along with Goldwell Master Stylist Courses too.

In the last few years, I have been able to assist on photoshoots for hair extensions and also been apart of behind the scenes Midlands Fashion Week.

My favourite part of hairdressing is making people look and feel confident and happy and helping them through there hair journey to achieve their goals!

My family & friends are everything to me. My mother is my inspiration, She is my Friend, My Mother,  My daily reality check and more.  I'm an independent woman & a single mother to boot. My Daughter Ivy is a Calico cat. We adopted each other a few years ago now and it gets better every day.

I’m Fortunate enought to have had a varied and constant working life on the salon floor and gay dance floors of the LGBTQA+ community Including my very own creation the drag queen and Midlands zone award winning legend Charlotte the harlot. I've retired the old girl now. However, she had thirteen full years of  gay cabaret touring the country as host along with DJ duties in every gay venue Birmingham ever had including the nightingale the village bar Missing bar I never worked at subway city but it is the legend of clubs i must say.

With hairdressing truly being my craft & passion I really did land on my 6 inch heels the day James reached out to me on social media and I became a part of team hush. This was many years ago now in 2018. Under James' supervision and training I'm proud to say my specialties are balayage, Nano keratin straightening, Wolf cuts, Funky cuts, The biggest Bouncy blow drys, Hair extensions, Men’s hair systems. If it is loreal or manic panic extreme colours i just love it. O did i mention i am now a part of the hush training team…..

With Scotland being my country of origin Direct sunlight can be an issue. However I can't resist treating all to a view of my multi coloured tattoos. I emigrated down south to England in 2006 and  

Hi, I'm Becky! I started working at Hush in 2014 and quickly moved from my Level 2 Apprenticeship onto Level 3.

I have now moved from Stylist up to Creative Stylist, which I love. I have a creative passion for cutting both women and men's hair. Bold colours are also my favourite, along with balayage. I love seeing the transformations during the process and at the end!

After studying L'oreal Colour courses, I am now ready to start with L'oreal Colour Specialist Degree which will give me a higher understanding into the science and technology behind hair colour.

I was 14 when I started in the hair industry,  then qualified at 17 and I have not looked back!

Six years later, I have grown to love short hair styles and really enjoy bold colours. I have attended many creative courses focusing cutting and new colouring techniques. This has helped me perfect my skills amazingly.

Also working with brands like Kerastase and L'oreal, I have gained a generous amount of knowledge which has enabled me to work with different hair types and hair textures.

With 16+ years of experience in the hair industry, I have developed my skills and passion for transforming looks and boosting confidence. From leaving school and starting as a Junior at a family salon in Coventry i moved to Birmingham at the age of 18 to pursue my career in hair. My journey has allowed me to stay ahead of trends, mastering various techniques and styles that cater to diverse clients. I believe that every haircut and colour tells a story, and I’m dedicated to helping individuals express their unique personalities through their hair. Whether it’s a classic short cut or a blended balayage, I strive to create an unforgettable experience for each person who sits in my chair and I really look forward to starting the journey of great hair with you!
